National Speed: 2011 Dodge Challenger 392 SRT-8 – 420.22whp/419.95ftlbs…

Great job Dodge, the car makes incredible power for a factory vehicle. This car is absolutely 100% stock, and these dyno numbers are SAE with a smoothing level of 0. I cannot wait until the aftermarket community gets their hands on this 392, great things are going to happen.

    @DeAdiSSu3 You’re going to port the heads on a Coyote motor yourself?! You better be damn good. Will that military discount apply to a shop that does CNC machining?

    @DeAdiSSu3 gotta love the military discount. i know a guy that has a miata mx5 with a 302 mustang boss in it.i know what you mean, awesome stang with upgrades or get a bigger heavier still a badass car with a hemi. i like the challenger BECAUSE its big and heavy. i dont care about quarter mile times i just love the car for what it is. big and powerful and not bad on gas at all. if u get the 6 spd you dont have to pay the gas guzzler obama tax. i think it best pays tribute to its muscle roots

    @GMCman82 I’m planning on getting a new 5.0 Mustang GT with Brembo brakes for under $30,000 (military discount – lol). I’m going to port & polish the heads myself, then i’m going to buy either a procharger or twin-screw kit for it. 7-8 PSI will get me around 550-580 rear wheel horsepower, 10-12 PSI will get me over 600 rear wheel horsepower. I haven’t bought it yet though so who knows, I might get a challenger instead ;)

    @DeAdiSSu3 now that depends on the top end of the gt 500. its supposed to be electronically governed to 150 mph while the challenger will hit every bit of its 180 mph top speed. unless they have different models with different top speeds that would be different. im just talking about the most common gt500 that you might see out in public or on the highway with the SC 5.4. If you want to see a real stang look for the shelby mustang code red if you didnt know about it already. AWESOME!!!!!

    @prowler10393 The GT500 will pull on the 2011 srt8 on the top end though. A more reasonable comparison is the new 5.0 to the 392, and BTW, the mustang never really had anything to prove. It’s always been a lightweight fast-ass car…I really like the old mopars as well though. I actually own a Plymouth. Haha

    @prowler10393 yeah theyre both nice cars but when it comes donw to it, it does depend on the driver, but yeah either way theyre both 2 good american cars , n yeah i understand why you wouldnt like how it looks i dont really like the colors either if i buy one i want it all black and the wheels to me are ok cause i would most likely paint them black too lol but atleast the spoiler isnt one of those huge ones that make any car look completely hideous lol

    @83estrada

    Well most people think the Mustang was…but the Barracuda came out a few weeks before the Mustang. So technically speaking it’s first. But I could care less really lol.

    You’re right, it all depends on the owners. And if the 392 gets some old guys who don’t care like the last generation of SRT8s, I don’t look for the car to get that much respect. I like that Ford brought back the BOSS, but you got admit it looks cheesy with the roof and wheels. Spoilers I understand.

    @prowler10393 pony cars are just more compact, and the last time i checked the mustang was the first pony car, and the challenger is also a pony car.
    and until it comes out and more people are running it stock not any magazine i will believe its running a 12.3 just like im believing you that the challenger is running a 12.4 but i will have to wait to see what car is better.

    October 25th, 2011 | 7:46 am

    @83estrada

    Pony Cars are not the same as muscle cars….The original pony car just happen to be a Chrysler product called the Plymouth Barracuda.

    I know you’d like to think the Boss is running 12.3 1/4 and is some sort of track legend because you get your information BIASEDTREND, but when it comes down to it I will put money that you don’t have the nuts to go around a track flat out. Circuit racing is a matter of courage, not the car. In that case, a heavy 392 will still own you

    October 25th, 2011 | 8:13 am

    @prowler10393 i would pay for 41k real Muscle car that can beat the 392 even if you think it cant the Original Pony car the Ford Mustang

  23. prowler10393
    October 25th, 2011 | 8:52 am

    @83estrada

    You see that’s the problem, you got your information from FordTrend…Everyone else…Well the times are pretty much indential to the 392′s….

    Well you can pay $41k for a riced out Mustang with the silly painted wheels and ricer roof with the ricer spoiler, I’ll stick with a muscle car.

    And just so you know, the real track Boss Mustang starts at $79k for those who are actually serious about racing. Laguna Seca Edition? LMFAO talk about totally worthless for a street car

    @prowler10393 the boss 302 that starts at around 40k is faster than this

    One problem with the mustang its a FORD!! I have owned fords and they have issues like no other. Last mustang i drove have a live rear axel no IRS and it hopped like bugs bunny with elmer fudd on its A** That dirty 4 letter word on the car says it all. Dont get me wrong i own a 77 ford truck my winter driver and it has been a headache!! But it gets me thru the winter and thats all it gets me thru
